PE and Sport at Bowesfield Primary
At Bowesfield Primary we believe that Physical Education and sport are an integral part of education. We want all children to take part in and enjoy sport and physical activity. In addition, we will ensure all children are equipped with the skills, knowledge and positive attitudes to lead an active and healthy lifestyle.
Physical education provides children with the opportunity to be creative, competitive, experience leadership and face challenges as individuals and in teams. Children learn how to think in different ways and how to make decisions in response to creative, competitive and challenging activities. Children will learn how to reflect and evaluate their performance and the performance of other to improve the quality of their work.
We encourage sporting competition and inclusion so that all children are given opportunities to participate in a range of sports activities and have access to a broad and balanced Physical Education curriculum. The intent of our Physical Education curriculum is to deliver a curriculum which is accessible to all children that will maximise the outcomes for every child. Children will leave our school ready to build on previous skills and learn new skills with a positive mindset. They will be resilient when applying these skills and will show respect during both team and individual events. They will leave school with the knowledge and skills to make healthy lifestyle choices, both in body and mind. We endeavour to provide children with the confidence they need to raise their own aspirations, set goals and work hard to achieve them.
