OFSTED and Performance

We were delighted to receive our latest OFSTED inspection in February 2024, which determined Bowesfield Primary School and Nursery received a grade of Good across the board, with Outstanding in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Assessment at Bowesfield 

All schools assess children at a number of key points of their education. At Bowesfield, we assess children as follows:-
  • Baseline – when they join our school
  • At the end of Early Years Foundation Stage
  • At the end of Year 1 children undertake Phonics Assessment Tests
  • At the end of Key Stage One
  • Year 4 multiplication test
  • At the end of Key Stage Two

 

 

We also assess children throughout their time at school, using marking and feedback, teacher assessment and tasks and tests throughout to ensure we know how well our children are doing and what they need to do next to improve.
