 Job Description

Bowesfield Primary School is looking to appoint a highly motivated and talented Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our team. You will work alongside our EYFS staff to support and extend the children’s learning throughout the early years’ foundation stage. The role requires someone who is passionate about children’s learning and who has a rich knowledge and understanding of how pupils, including those with SEND, learn within the EYFS.

Experience in an Early Years setting is essential for this role. A relevant Level 3 childcare qualification is required. Paediatric First Aid and Level 2 Food Hygiene are desirable. If you are committed to helping children to make progress in every lesson, every day we would like to hear from you.

We are looking for someone who:

  • is passionate about children’s learning
  • has a rich knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework and how pupils learn
  • has a good understanding of language development
  • is eager to expand their knowledge, skills and understanding of teaching practices
  • has experience of working within an Early Years environment
  • has experience of teaching phonics to support the teaching and learning of early reading
  • has experience of supporting children with SEND
  • has experience of managing children’s behaviour within an agreed system
